The road show "Welcome to St. Petersburg!", organized by the Committee on tourism development of St.Petersburg and the publishing house “TourBusiness”, was held in Russia for the first time.

The road show has kicked off on November 10. On November 28 in Moscow hotel "The Golden Ring" the final presentation of the Northern capital has taken place.

"We are pleased with the way the road show was going: it has stirred the great interest among the representatives of travel industry. Next year we’d like to repeat it. The road show is completely new format for St. Petersburg promotion. Its idea was borrowed by us from our Moscow colleagues who have already had similar experience. The road show has several advantages: on the one hand, it supports tour operators, on the other – it promotes the city and attracts new tourists", – said in an interview to the portal www.tourbus.ru Alexander Martynov, the head of the department on regional and international projects under the Committee on tourism development of St. Petersburg.

Professional business meetings and presentations of tourism opportunities of the Northern capital were held in 15 cities across the country – Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Izhevsk, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Orenburg, Samara, Saratov, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Tula and Moscow.

The particiants of the road show were the leading tour operators handling the incoming tourism to St. Petersburg: Bon Tour, The Bureau Petrograd, Intel-T, The Music of travel, the National Tour Operator Alean, Lira-Service, Nevsky seasons, Nevsky Paradise, Paradise-tour, Petrotur, RVS, Strannik, the tour company Russian city, the tour firm Caprice, KIT Service, SK Intour, Eclectica, the hotel Park Inn by Radisson Nevsky.
