The open competition of reindeer breeders for the Cup of the Governor of Yamal traditionally held in late February – early March is the bright hallmark of tourist Nadym.

During its long history the colourful sports festival has welcome hundreds of tourists from all over Russia, CIS and foreign countries.

For the first time the teams of all reindeer breeders’ economies of Yamal have gathered for the Reindeer Breeder Day in 1995. Over the long history of competitions the festival traditions have formed giving unique features to the event.
